the question for the answer:
Where do you stand
theologically?
My theological beliefs are right in line with those of
Campus Crusade for Christ. God created us to know and love Him
personally. We are separated from Him because of our sin- which is
when we act contrary to God's will for our lives. God sent His
son, Jesus Christ, to die for us that our sin might be paid for and that
we may know God. All we must do is ask God to forgive us from our
sin and accept Him as our LORD and Savior.
Though salvation is given to us freely by the grace of
God through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9), once we have turned our lives over
to Christ the rest of our lives simply consist of keeping our lives in
His hands. Recognizing the sovereignty of Christ in our lives and
seeking to serve Him alone is a lifelong struggle.
Personally, the greatest challenge I experience in my
life is to be completely surrendered to Christ at all times, never
putting any of my own desires over His desires for my life. This
is when I truly experience life as Christ intends (John 10:10).

What denomination do you
belong to?
I have been a part of many different churches across the
assortment of places that I've lived over the years. These
churches have been of many different denominations, including
Presbyterian, Baptist, Evangelical Free, and a few have been
non-denominational. I always look for several things in a church
before I consider attending on a regular basis and they are as follows:
a clear commitment to serving Christ alone,

How long have you been involved with Campus Crusade for Christ?
I first became involved with Crusade in 1998 during my
first semester at the University of Kansas. I sensed something
really special about the organization in its commitment to evangelism
through reaching students for Christ. I have been involved with
Cru at least in some degree every year since at whatever college I was
at at the time.

What training have
you received in ministry?
I went through all levels at NLTC (New Life
Training Center) at Texas Tech, and have been involved in leadership
training at OU Cru for the past year and a half. I interned with Josh
McDowell Ministries and was trained in ministering to Russians and inner
city children of different descent (African American and Hispanic). I
was raised Baptist and have been involved in several aspects of training
and teaching throughout my upbringing.

What is your understanding of and attitude toward initiative evangelism?
According to my understanding, initiative
evangelism is simply taking the initiative to share the Gospel to those
in need of hearing it. I view initiative evangelism as an essential
part of the Christian life. There is little more thrilling or exciting
to me than to go out on campus and meet people with the primary purposes
of befriending them and sharing the Gospel with them. It is something
that I have committed to do more this year, and has always been a
blessing in the past.

Do you feel most comfortable being the leader or a team participant?
Please explain.
I feel more comfortable being a leader than a team
participant. While I thoroughly enjoy being a participant in any solid,
God-focused team, I particularly love to organize, motivate, and lead a
team. Personality and spiritual tests have shown that I work well given
autonomy and have primary gifts of evangelism, prophecy, teaching, and
pastor/shepherd.

What did
you like/dislike about being in this role?
I loved seeing those around me catch a passion for
God and develop in their walks with Christ. As far as being the leader,
I was simply excited to play a part in encouraging them towards greater
spiritual maturity. College students are at a time of great importance
in their lives, and it thrills my heart to be used by God to encourage
them to be faithful to the LORD and live lives devoted to Him.

Frequency
and amount of time spent with the LORD:
I make it a priority to meet with the LORD at least
once a day. If I go a day without reading scripture and meditating upon
it, I feel as if that day was a failure. I know that's not the case,
but the difference in my heart on days that I have met with the LORD,
and those in which I haven't is amazing. I don't monitor my time so
much- I just make sure that I have a quiet time frame of at least 30
minutes or so to work with and let things go from there.

Describe your time with the
LORD.
I have intimate time with the LORD where I will
spend time reading in my Nelson Study Bible (I am currently moving
through Micah), and then will spend time in my prayer journal on most
days. Regardless, there is a time of feeding on the Word and then
communicating adoration, confessions, thanksgiving, and intercession to
the LORD. This is the highlight of my day and I just can't live without
it.

Why do you believe God is leading you to participate in an internship
with the Campus Ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ?
I have been involved in Crusade leadership at least
to some extent for nearly seven years at three different schools and
have seen in each location how God is using Crusade staff to change
lives, and how these students in turn, go on to bless the lives of those
around them. Over the past three years, I have thought and prayed about
an internship as my heart yearns to encourage college students as they
go through a very difficult time of decision making in their lives.

What are
your thoughts on dating?
I am working on a devotional regarding this right now.
You may be thinking, why write a devotional on dating? In my
opinion, to a large degree, the worldly ways of thinking have
infiltrated and corrupted the typical Christian romanticizing process.
I have seen this happen all the time, all around me, and even in me at
times. We are being assaulted with wrong views of dating every day
when the TV is turned on, when we watch movies, in the lives of friends,
at parties, and especially in advertising everywhere. Emotional
feelings are emphasized, looks and physique are given utmost importance,
and typically little regard is given to the well-being of the person you
are interested in.
I have seen improper relationships with women deeply
wound and stunt the spiritual growth of a great number of my highly
respected Christian brothers. Likewise, I know that ladies are
being hurt by improper relationships with their male counterparts.
A different approach, one centered around Christ, has got to be taken.
More on that in a few days in the devotional section...
I am currently single, but very open to beginning a
dating relationship. God has put the heart of a husband and father
in me and my heart longs for a wife and children to love and care for.
I have no clue how he's going to bring this all together, but I trust
that He's going to take care of me.
